The setting of La Mirande in the heart of the city and facing the Popes' Palace is unique. Tailor-made luxury events, small weddings and , confidential meetings can be organised in the salons of La Mirande.

Bar and Afternoon Tea service is at our guests' disposal from noon to midnight in the tranquillity of our state rooms or the luscious garden.

Boardroom Meeting Space

Bespoke events, meetings and board committees can be organized at La Mirande in Provence. Maximun capacity of our reception rooms is 50 participants in theatre style and 24 in board-room style. Napoleon III dining room seats up to 16 guests and the old kitchen welcomes up to 12 guests.

Boutique Shop

The boutique is the place where you can find many refurbished antiques that enhance the atmosphere and refinement of La Mirande such as candle jars, lantern of journey, chairs from Arles, box tree lamp feet, 'indiennes' – painted or printed fabric made in Europe between the 17th and the 19th century and antique plates etc.

City Tours, Theatre and Cultural Events

Visit Avignon, UNESCO World Heritage with the Popes' Palace, The Pont Saint Bénezet (Pont d'Avignon) and the museums. Avignon festival is the most important theatre and performing arts event in the world taking place in July. Recently renovated, the Opéra Grand Avignon is an institution with a historical heritage dating back over two centuries. Many other cultural events all year round.

Florent Pietravalle, Chef of the gourmet Michelin-starred Restaurant

After 4 years as sous-chef in Pierre Gagnaire's three Michelin-star restaurant in Paris, 28-year old Florent Pietravalle joined La Mirande as Chef de Cuisine in 2016 and was awarded his first Michelin star in 2019.

The Green Star distinction from the Michelin guide 2021 promotes restaurants that are particularly committed to a sustainable approach to gastronomy.

Here in southern France is where it all began for this modest young prodigy. Born in Montpellier, he trained first with Raoul Reichrath in Roaix (1 Michelin star) then with Jean-Luc Rabanel in Arles (2 Michelin stars), with a year in Paris in between, working for Joel Robuchon (2 Michelin stars).

He has now created his own culinary signature with a menu of uncompromising freshness that combines a uniquely light touch with beautifully balanced, satisfying flavors. His love for prime produce inspires him to let them tell their own tale on the plate. His cuisine is one of emotion which strikes a responsive chord in us, an instinctive appetite for unadulterated nature.

La Mirande’s Bar is set in the warm and inviting atmosphere of its red drawing room with a 17th century painted ceiling. A subtle and varied drink list is sure to meet the highest expectations.

La Salle à Manger is the bistro alternative to chef Florent Pietravalle's gourmet restaurant starred in the Michelin Guide 2021. Lunches and dinners, served in the garden room or on the terrace at the foot of the Popes' Palace. Open 7 days a week.

Le Marmiton - Cooking School

Since 1994, La Mirande’s cooking school, “Le Marmiton”, hosts the region’s greatest chefs.

One week per month, they will invite you to join them in the old kitchen where they will cook on the 19 century wood-fired stove. The area’s gourmets, young and old alike, appreciate these entertaining moments when know-hows and kitchen tips are transmitted in a place filled with history.

Aprons, utensils and spec sheets are provided at the start of the class which finishes with a sampling meal accompanied by wines chosen by the sommelier. Novice chefs will have the pleasure of inviting friends to join them round the table and share in the lunch or dinner they have prepared.

La Mirande offers a fresh and creative cuisine with a Provençal touch. True to the tradition of the Stein family, the chef Florent Pietravalle meets personally with the growers as he constantly strives to find the best products grown in their native soil and harvested at the peak of ripeness, giving full meaning to the concepts of terroir and seasonal.

The gourmet restaurant's friendly and attentive staff creates a truly gastronomic experience in the warm and inviting setting of the Cardinalice room, a vestige of the cardinals' residence, with its magnificent Renaissance ceiling.

In winter, a crackling fireplace plays soft background music while in warmer weather the terrace and garden provide an oasis of calm.

Adjoining the main restaurant, the Napoleon III salon with its original woodwork and period vaisselier creates an especially festive setting for guests in the former dining room of the Pamard family.

Adopting a very simple approach that favors the story behind a wine over the technical skill that went into its making, the sommelier's selections are often personal favorites or the result of fruitful encounters with men and women, craftsmen and wine lovers. His wine list features great names, but also a host of wines made using ancestral methods.

Tea Time

Every afternoon, in the glass-covered patio or on the terrace, a buffet of home-made 100% organic pastries are prepared by the pastry chef.

Madeleines, gingerbread, almong croquants, poppy seed cakes, chocolate fondants and seasonal fruit tarts are baked and served with hot chocolate prepared in the traditional way or with exceptional teas selected by La Mirande, some of which are organically grown.

Let us not forget the KOMBUCHA, a drink that appeared thousands of years ago probably in China, made of fermented tea which appeared in Eastern Europe in the 19th century. In fashion in Italy in the 1950s. Sparkling drink served chilled.

Our espresso coffee is also organic and comes from Mexico. 100% Arabica, it is very delicate and slightly acid. With a library composed of many art books, La Mirande also receives a few French and foreign newspapers at the guests’ disposal.

The Chef's Table

In the medieval part of La Mirande, there is a hidden treasure: the historical kitchen and its wooden stove. In the friendly atmosphere of the ancient kitchen of the 19th century, equipped with a still working cast iron wood-fired furnace. A share table for a "return from the market" menu cooked as you watch. ​ Available from Tuesday to Saturday for dinner.
