The twenty-six upper-floor rooms boast a unique décor, each with its own 18th century wall hanging recreated by Braquenié, Le Manach, Canovas, Comoglio and Rubelli, to name a few.

Behind its stunning facade, La Mirande exudes the sweet way of life of yesteryear. The twenty-six upper-floor rooms boast a unique décor, each with its own 18th century wall hanging recreated by Braquenié, Le Manach, Canovas, Comoglio and Rubelli, to name a few.

The abundant Indienne fabrics, also known as “toile de Jouy”, are a perfect match for the silk-lined curtains with large pleats that pool softly on the floor.

All modern comforts are seamlessly integrated into the interior design, as evinced by the “mirror” televisions. The bright and cheerful rooms quickly help tired travelers relax and unwind. Many of them afford a splendid and unique view of the high walls of the Palais des Papes. The bathroom constitutes a noble room in itself, with a delightfully unexpected décor of vintage Mauny block-printed wallpaper, antique faucets and Carrara marble.

Directions
Coming by car, from Nice, Marseille or Lyon on the motorway A8-A7, take the AVIGNON NORD exit and drive towards AVIGNON (center ville).

After a little while you will find, the river on your right hand side and then the old city wall (built by the Popes in the 14th century) on your left hand side. Drive until the gate (city wall) PORTE DE LA LIGNE, which is before the famous Avignon bridge (Pont d’Avignon). Go through the gate and turn immediately right.

Follow this narrow street (rue du Rempart, which becomes rue de la Banasterie) and turn right again at the third STOP sign. To access to the pedestrian mall please drive right up in front of the metal bollards, call La Mirande through the intercom device and pull a ticket; drive on when the red light turns yellow which is the only proof that the bollards are completely down.

Once you see the Pope’s Palace, turn right, here we are! Just in front of it. Coming from anywhere else or if you loose your way, you can drive around outside the old city wall and look out for the gate PORTE DE LA LIGNE, located where the river comes closest to the city wall. This gate is the only easy access to La Mirande.
